I like this picture. This is a picture of construction that was taking place on the back end of the University of Merced campus in 2009. In the distance you can see a water tower that I took a number of different pictures of.
The picture above was taken a few weeks before the arrival of Michelle Obama on the campus for a commencement address.
When I was growing up, this was mostly farmland. When I was in Junior High School, this area was briefly turned into a golf course, that eventually went out of business.
I've posted a whole series of pictures from the campus, mostly because it was so surprising for me to return home and discover a college campus up and running next to where I grew up.
